-Tickets for Game 1 of the first round of the Oilers’ playoffs have been snapped up in a big way.
Most of the ones now available are “verified resale tickets”, tickets sold by fans and authenticated by Ticketmaster.
Now it’s a matter of waiting to find to find out who the Oilers are going to face in the first round.
They’ve got home-ice advantage, but the game dates and times also have to be determined.
That will happen, once their opponent has been figured out.
Fans aside, the playoffs could turn into some great business for sports bars, restaurants and more in the heart of Edmonton.

Specialist Dr. Fred Saad says the guidelines for breast, prostate, lung and cervical cancer are out of date, but the taskforce says they’re weighing the benefits of screening against the possible harms of false positive results, which they say could lead to unnecessary treatments.

-A 73-year old Leduc man who had gone missing Sunday morning was found safe yesterday evening.

-St. Albert city council is going to debate today whether or not to borrow more than 16-million dollars to for the proposed development of Millenium Park, which many people don’t want to even see happen.
The forested area is between St. Albert Place and Lions Park, and if the plan goes through, about 56-percent of the trees would be chopped down to make way for public washrooms, commercial space, playground and a picnic area.
More than 45-hundred people recently signed a petition against that plan.

-Organizers of Edmonton’s Great Outdoors Comedy Festival say comedian Kevin Hart is going to be the headliner at the event.
He’s going to be on hand at Kinsmen Park July 13th, and organizers say the festival is part of his new “Acting My Age” tour.

The Oilers took down the Sharks in a big way last night, as they beat them 9-2.
Connor McDavid also scored his 32nd goal this season and recorded his 100th assist.
He joins Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr and Mario Lemieux as the only players to reach that milestone and he says it means a lot to him to be in the same category as players he truly admires.
