-If you’re going to be driving around Edmonton this afternoon, you might want to avoid 124th Street and Jasper Avenue between 109th and 124th Street.
That’s where demonstrators against the carbon tax will be starting at noon and lasting til about 4pm.
And it’s not the only one, as several demonstrations are planned across the countrym including Highway 16 near Lloydminster.

-In the meantime, the Premier of Newfoundland wants an emergency meeting of federal and provincial leaders, to figure out some possible alternatives to the carbon tax.
A number of Premiers have demanded the feds not hike the tax today, but the Liberal government hasn’t listened.
The tax went up by 23-percent today, as the Prime Minister denied it’s playing a role in the higher cost of just about everything in the country.
The feds say they’re also adjusting the Canada Carbon Rebate to reflect the higher tax.
The next payment is supposed to arrive April 15th.

-The federal government is planning to put 1-billion dollars over the next five years, into a new national school-food program.
They say it should be enough to expand school food programs that already exist, and help provide another 400-thousand kids with decent meals each year.
The plan will be included in the budget later this month.

-Some good news concerning a missing woman and her son, as Red Deer RCMP say Amanda and Nash Patterson were found, and they’re both fine.
As is common with these types of cases, police did not say where they were found, but the 8-year old boy and his 35-year old mother were safe.
The alert had been issued yesterday.

-A man is recovering in the hospital, after his dog Hero made sure someone found him when he was stuck in a muddy ditch near Taber.

The company says the right front driveshaft and the intermediate shaft of some Tellurides made between 2020 and this year, may not be fully engaged and it could cause the vehicles to roll away when they’re parked.
