-An employee at the Edmonton Valley Zoo wound up in the hospital after she was bitten by a snake this morning.
It’s a Burmese python named Lucy, who came to the zoo back in 2016.
Zoo officials say they’ve never had a problem with her before.
The biting incident happened around 8am, but so far details on what led to it haven’t come out.
The worker is said to be doing well at the University Hospital.

-Investigators are still looking into the cause of the big fire that took down an adult entertainment store in west Edmonton last week.

-A teenage boy was sent to the hospital with serious injuries, after being assaulted with a weapon yesterday afternoon at City Centre Mall.

-Kitscoty RCMP are thanking the public for remaining vigilant, after they got a complaint about a suspicious looking man looking for fuel at an acreage south of Lloydminster last week.
When Mounties arrived, they found the suspect in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Lloydminster a few days before.

-The province is extending the use of blue lights as a way of improving the safety of roadside workers and drivers.
Flashing blue lights were made optional last year on snowplows, tow trucks and highway maintenance vehicles last year to improve their visibility.
