A Day to Listen: Honouring Truth with Action

On September 30, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Stingray Radio stations across Canada will participate in A Day to Listen, broadcasting special programming from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Created by the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, A Day to Listen brings together radio stations from coast to coast to amplify Indigenous voices, stories, perspectives, and experiences. Since its launch in 2021, the initiative has encouraged Canadians to learn, reflect, and take meaningful steps toward reconciliation.

This Year’s Theme: Honouring Truth with Action

As we mark the 10th anniversary of Secret Path, this year’s programming reflects on how Gord Downie helped bring Chanie Wenjack’s story to Canadians, transforming awareness into meaningful action through learning, dialogue, and change.

Throughout the broadcast, listeners will hear conversations with Indigenous leaders, Knowledge Keepers, educators, artists, and changemakers from across the country. These discussions explore how understanding truth can inspire positive action within our communities.

Honouring truth means listening to the lived experiences of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples, recognizing the lasting impacts of colonialism and the residential school system, and committing to meaningful actions that advance reconciliation.
