-Leduc RCMP are hoping the public can help them find a missing 73-year old man.
Mounties say he left home yesterday morning and might be hitchhiking to High River, but there’s concern for his well being.
He’s described as having a fair complexion, green eyes and brown hair.
James Smith is about 5 foot 10 and 194 pounds, and had last been seen wearing a black “Mullens” jacket, green pants and a black hat.

-There was a big house fire on 103rd Avenue and 139th Street in Edmonton yesterday afternoon.
Investigators say no one was home when the blaze started on the porch.
They’re still working to figure out the exact cause of the blaze.

-One person wound up in the hospital, following a fire at a multi-unit building on 80th Avenue and 106th Street last night.
It isn’t known how badly the person was hurt, but there’s a fair amount of damage to the building.
The cause of that blaze isn’t known yet.

A number of people had to evacuate their homes this morning because of a fire in Edmonton’s Grovenor neighbourhood.
Fire officials say it started in a garage and then spread to the house.
It doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt.

-There was a big grass fire on some property north of the Yellowhead and west of the Henday this morning.
Water tankers had to be called in because the hydrants in that part of the city aren’t working.
No reports of injuries.

Fire crews are dealing with a wildfire west of Slave Lake.
It’s about 15km in size and about 8km southeast of Kinuso, but officials say for now it’s not threatening any homes or communities, and it’s being held.
The cause of that blaze is still being investigated.

The group wants to collect 200-thousand signatures to push for a vote on the idea of replacing the CPP with a provincial plan.

-The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting yesterday to talk about Iran’s attack on Israel this weekend.
Iran’s ambassador says they had every right to defend themselves, after an Israeli airstrike is believed to have killed two Iranian generals.

More than 300 drones, ballistic and cruise missiles were launched, although Israel says the majority of them were intercepted.
Ambassadors from a number of countries spoke against the attack and have asked Israel to not retaliate, as they don’t want things to escalate even more in the Middle East.

-A big win for Team Canada yesterday as they beat the U-S 6-5 in overtime to snag the gold at the Women’s World Hockey Championship.
Goalie Anne-Renee Desbiens says it was pretty sweet after losing last year’s final to the States.
The overtime goal came courtesy of Edmonton’s Danielle Serdachny.
