Edmonton police and RCMP in Strathcona County have teamed up on a case from this morning, as they believe two incidents are connected.
Police were called to the Henday south of the 153rd Avenue exit, where a vehicle had gone off the road and hit the concrete base of a pole.
The 21-year old man behind the wheel died at the scene.
Strathcona County RCMP have since said they believe the driver is the suspect in a stabbing on Range Road 221 early today.
A 44-year old woman had been stabbed at a home and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

-Edmonton city officials are asking those who celebrate the festival of Diwali, to do so safely, following a huge fire at the Ivor Dent Sports Park Sunday night.
Fire officials believe the blaze was the result of fireworks being set off.

It happened in the Ranger Creek area of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, when two ice climbers were hit.
One of them was a 26-year old woman, who was partially buried by slabs of snow and was able to get out, while the 29-year old man with her died.

-Today is World Diabetes Day, and the group Friends of Medicare is calling on the province to expand coverage to include continuous glucose monitors.
