-ASIRT is involved, following an officer-related shooting in downtown Edmonton Saturday night.
Police had been called to a weapons complaint around 103-A Avenue and 101st Street, on word that two people had been stabbed.
Officers say they found a critically injured woman and a seriously wounded man, along with a man armed with a knife.
They ordered the suspect to put down the weapon, but when he wouldn’t comply, one officer fired his weapon, hitting the suspect.
The man was taken to the hospital and none of the officers were injured.
At this point, there’s no word on a motive for the initial incident and it was across the street from one of the NHL playoff watch areas.
