Word this morning that the story of the cats found in Rubbermaid bins near some railroad tracks northeast of Red Deer—-wasn’t quite the truth….
The “Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society” says a man had told them he found the two bins with cats and kittens inside…
Now they say he’s changed his story—telling them the animals actually belonged to a family member—and that he tried to find a place for them all—but wasn’t able to—so he made up the story.
They don’t think the cats were in the bins as long as first believed—and they feel the man is genuinely sorry for the whole thing.
The animals are being taken care of in the meantime—-but officials say there most certainly is a population control problem right now—especially with cats.
They feel more has to be done to bring affordable spaying and neutering services to rural Alberta. (photo credit–AARCS)
