It seems Veterans Affairs—didn’t pay as much as they were supposed to—to almost 300-thousand vets—-for eight years.
This concerns disability and pensions.
Experts say accountants somehow missed factoring in the provincial tax credit—so the veterans were shortchanged about 165-million dollars—-between 2002 and 2010.
The feds now say they’ve “secured a source of funds” to make retroactive payments.
However—part of the problem —is that many of them—have since died.
They had fought for Canada in World War 2 and the Korean conflict.
