Edmonton’s “End of the World” is no longer going to be so ominous.
In other words—officials are intervening—-to make it safer.
People have actually been prohibited from heading to the lookout over the river valley near 74th Avenue and Saskatchewan Drive for a few years because its dangerous—but that hasn’t kept anyone away.
So—stairs are going to be built over the dirt slopes—and there’s going to be a railing set up along the concrete wall.
The cost? 1.6-million dollars.
Oh–and its getting a new name.
Instead of being known as “The End of the World”—they’re calling it the “Keillor Point Viewing Area”. (photo credit–CBC)
