Some better news on the ag front in Alberta today….
Its slower going than usual—but farmers WERE able to get into their fields last week because of the warmer and drier weather.
Jason Lenz is with Alberta Barley:
“There’s been a lot of dust flying in the country I know for sure. Provincially-you know we’re definitely over 40-percent completed now and probably getting closer to 60 after the last week of good weather. One more week of this weather that’s in the forecast and for the most part–getting close to completed.”
Lenz says crops are still wet and need to be dried out–but he also says its a good idea to take your samples in and have them graded. He says it may not be as bad as you expect.
