There was a big fire at a dairy farm near Millet last night.
A barn near Township Road 474 and Range Road 241—caught fire before 11pm—and crews from a number of volunteer fire departments were called in to help battle the blaze.
Fortunately—-someone had seen the flames from their home—and made that crucial call.
The firefighters not only battled the fire—they also helped the owner get all the cattle out of that barn….
The animals are okay—but had it not been for that neighbour—-they might have all been lost.
Officials say the fire ripped through the building—and it wasnt officially declared out—until this morning.
The barn was completely destroyed.
What caused the blaze—is still being looked into. (photo credit–Millet Fire Department and CTV)
There’s also a big fire at a grain terminal in Unity, Saskatchewan right now.
Emergency crews are on scene–but RCMP say so many people have turned up to get a look at what’s going on—its making things dangerous for the firefighters.
This is at the North West Terminals–about 4km east of Unity.
So far there’s no word on what’s caused it.
