Two climbers set off an avalanche in the Columbia Icefield yesterday…
Happened around 10:30—on the north side of Silverhorne Route—and one of them only had his head and one arm sticking out.
Both wound up with serious injuries–since they were shoved about 6-hundred metres down the mountain before they finally came to a stop.
Lucky for them—they had the right equipment with them–so they were able to dig out–and call for help. (file photo—The Western Star)
