A city council committee says Edmonton’s LRT stations could use some safety upgrades.
Councillor Tony Caterina says better lighting is needed–as a start—especially in the Stadium and Coliseum stations.
But the committee is also recommending more cameras—AND better monitoring—so that victims can get help sooner than later.
The good news—is that violent crime on the LRT—has dropped by more than 50-percent in the past three years–thanks to the teaming of police and city peace-officers. (photo credit–CTV)
