-This should be interesting. The Prime Minister is supposed to be in Edmonton today–and you can bet there will be talk about the TransMountain pipeline matter. All we know right now—is that Justin Trudeau is supposed to meet with Premier Rachel Notley this afternoon.
In the meantime—Liberal MP’s shut down a bid by the opposition yesterday—-to hold a number of meetings to talk about what to do next about the pipeline project. Tory MP Shannon Stubbs was the one calling for the meetings—and says she was stunned it was shot down. She says it should concern ALL Canadians—not just those in Alberta.
-NDP leader Jagmeet Singh says the project should be called off—“for good”:
“I do not believe in putting our public resources in buying a pipeline. I dont believe we should be putting our public resources in expanding a pipeline. Not at all. I believe we should be investing in the future.”
He thinks its time the government transition the economy towards renewable energy sources and green jobs. (photo credit–MacLean’s)
