Its not often we hear of really big hurricanes in the Pacific—but thats happening right now—-as Hurricane Lane churns towards Hawaii.
And its a monster Category-5 storm–with wind gusts of 315km an hour.
The National Hurricane Centre says it could cause catastrophic damage to the islands.
Its about 600km south of Hilo at the moment.
The last Category 5 in the region—-was in 1994—when Hurricane John showed up.
