Just a few days after it had been reported that she was gravely ill—comes word that Aretha Franklin has died.
The “Queen of Soul” who was best known for her songs “Respect” and “Think”–passed away this morning at the age of 76.
Her death has been confirmed by her publicist.
Franklin had been battling advanced pancreatic cancer for some time.
Her last concert was back in November.
During her career—Franklin won 19 Grammys, had 112 songs hit the charts and sold more than 75-million copies over 6 decades. (photo credit–CP)
