Here’s proof that you learn how to survive when you’re a boy scout.
A 13 year old boy got separated from his troop during a hiking trip in Wyoming this past weekend—and since he didnt know how long he was going to be by himself—he put his knowledge to work.
The troop was doing an 81-km hike in the back country wilderness….
Garrett Hunter had a little bit of food, a sleeping bag, water-filtration device and part of a tent….
He didnt want to waste his food—-so he ate ants and bark to keep going.
He was by himself for 37 hours—but crews were looking for him.
One group decided to camp by a lake Sunday night—when a volunteer called out Garrett’s name—and they heard him yell back.
They found him on a ledge overlooking the lake.
Officials say he did everything right…..which is why they were able to find him.
As for what he ate—he says the ants werent bad—-but the bark wasnt great.
