-The U-S is challenging the payback tariffs its been hit with from a number of countries. Of course as we know—-the U-S started it—by slapping tariffs on steel and aluminum coming into the US. Avery Shenfeld is the Chief Economist with CIBC Capital Markets–and he told Huff Post the U-S is trying to pressure the Canadian government into signing a new NAFTA agreement that would lean in the American’s favour.
–-Seems even Donald Trump’s people were crossing their fingers that things would go better following the meeting between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday. They actually gave him a lot of material where he could take a tough stance against Russia. And that didn’t happen. Instead–he did whatever he wanted.
