The first festival of the year happens this Friday and Saturday in Edmonton—and its about all things Ukrainian!
U-Fest happens at Borden Park—and spokeperson Daria Luciw says its the first multi-day festival they’ve ever had in this region—with all the big Ukrainian dance companies coming on board:
“We’ve got several Ukrainian dance schools, groups from Calmar and Calgary, all the Ukrainian dance bands, national instruments–like the dulcimer, great choirs and performers. We even have a singer from Ukraine coming for it. Of course there’ll be lots of food, beer–including Ukrainian beer and there’s lots of vendors–we have 19 tents in our vendor village as well.”
