As expected—there’s now a fire ban in the city of Edmonton.
No open burning of any kind—and that means no backyard firepits, no cooking stoves and no barbecues that use wood or briquettes.
Also no fireworks.
Fire officials say even though we’ve had a little bit of rain—its not enough.
Anyone who doesnt comply could wind up with a fine—or—if you wind up causing a fire—-fines—and the cost of fighting that blaze.
A fire ban has been declared for all of Strathcona County, effective immediately. The ban applies to all rural areas, hamlets and Sherwood Park.
