Alberta’s long cold winter—took its toll on fish and bees.
Hundreds of dead fish have been found floating on the surface of Crimson Lake–near Rocky Mountain House. That lake doesnt have the best oxygen levels in the winter—so that–combined with the shallow water—meant a lot of fish couldnt make it. (photo credit–Rory O’Connor)
At least one beekeeper in High River says more than 30-percent of her bees died over the winter. Thats higher than normal as well.
