The hammer is coming down on power and natural gas retailers who dont deal with customer complaints.
Energy Minister Marg McQuaig-Boyd has introduced legislation–that will slap them with fines if they dont get a move on.
Companies that dont resolve complaints—could be looking at fines of 10-thousand dollars a day.
And its going to speed things up considerably–whereas before—-it had to go to a formal hearing–which often took YEARS. Between 2014 and 2016–the province got more than 13-thousand complaints about billing problems.
