A woman has been taken to the hospital—after being rescued from a maintenance hole she fell through—following an underground electrical vault explosion this morning in downtown Edmonton.
The blast was strong enough to toss a number of manhole covers off in the region….
She fell through the hole around 97th Avenue and 106th Street–and it looks like she wound up with a broken ankle.
The blast also caused a number of power outages throughout the downtown.
Experts are still working on WHY the blast happened. (photo credit–CTV Edmonton)
