There are two very interesting studies circulating right now, concerning memory loss. One of them, done by Temple university, links consumption of canola oil with impaired memory, worsened learning ability and weight gain in mice. However, several canola councils around the world, including the Canola council of Canada refuted the claims in the Temple research.
The other study look at the potential for a new treatment for dementia in the form of blueberry vinegar. In the recent study, researchers show how the fermented product improved short term memory in mice with amnesia. It’s estimated that 50 million people around the world live with dementia. By 2050 that number is expected to reach 131 million.
