Probably not a surprise—but ER’s in the Edmonton region—-are seeing longer wait times.
The Canadian Institute for Health Information says most emergency patients—got a bed–about 38 hours AFTER they first showed up at the hospital.
That was last year—and is a big jump from the year before—when it was almost 33 hours.
Those are the longest wait-times in the province.
The Grey Nuns was by far the worst—-where patients finally got a bed—more than 60-hours after they were admitted.
But health experts say they want to make it clear—that patients often get an ER assessment bed or a stretcher–in the interim.
