Huge news for the province today—-as commissioners in Nebraska—have approved the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Its been a long time coming—9 years of reviews… It wasnt a unanimous vote though—was actually 3 to 2 in favour of the expansion.
Its going to carry 830-thousand barrels of Alberta oil a day—to refineries along the Gulf Coast. Nebraska was the last state to formally approve the line.
-In the meantime, Premier Rachel Notley says its going to mean greater energy security for ALL North Americans. She also says its another step in the effort to bring more Alberta oil to the world—-and hopes Canadian decision makers—follow this example.
