As two staff members have been charged with allegedly assaulting an elderly woman in a longterm care home in Killam—comes word that the province is looking for volunteers to become part of the new Advisory Council on Seniors and Continuing Care.
Alberta Health Services says those members will have a chance to provide a broad, system-wide perspective on seniors—and continuing care services.
Anyone interested–should fill out a form that can be found online at www.ahs.ca.
Getting back to that story of elder abuse….
Documents say the assault allegedly happened last month—to an 88 year old woman.
Other staff members at the centre say there’s not enough staff or time to provide the right amount of care–while others say they havent been trained the way they should be to deal with patients suffering from dementia and other problems.
