Every year, the team comprised of volunteers, along with the Critter himself, take their Rural Road Trip on the road to different communities as a fundraiser for anything and everything; minor hockey, arena upgrades, medical equipment…you name it! All funds raised from the evening stay in that community, and to date, the Critters have raised over one million dollars for different organizations cross Alberta.
The Critters wrapped up the season on Thursday, March 22 in Edmonton against the Braves Athletic Club to raise finds for new equipment, team jerseys and goalie equipment. Not only was it the first game in memory in our capital city that made this game unique, but we also hosted an on-air auction for a Joey Moss Oiler/Eskimo jersey the day before the game.
The initial bidder Jenny Tomlinson hoped to win the Jersey to auction again for her son Grant, who has a brain injury. After this, everyone who placed another bid wanted to donate the Jersey to Grant too, including our final anonymous bidder! We ended with $2,500, all of which Little Miracles is giving directly to the Braves Athletic Club and Empties to Winn.
Grant and his mom Jenny were at the game to accept the Framed and Signed Joey Moss Edmonton Oilers/Eskimo Jersey!
