The City of Edmonton says an independent consultant has found very little contamination on the City Centre airport lands. Phil Sand, the executive director of the airport land redevelopment project, says samples were drilled at 25 locations around the airport.As for the cost of remediation, Sand says it s too early to say, but adds it's expected to be quite reasonable. He says it could be done at the time of redevelopment, which would reduce the cost to the city.  

 A mutiny is brewing among some Eskimoe fans, and it's all about who will become the team s new General Manager.
There s speculation that former Saskatchewan GM Eric Tillman is being considered.
He was dumped after pleading guilty in January to the sexual assault of a 16 year old babysitter.

General Electric Canada has signed a deal with the province, that will see the company set up new technology centres in Alberta.
President Elyse Allen says the global heavy oil centre of excellence will be located in Calgary.The GE Innovation Centre, also located in Calgary, will conduct pilot programs in new health care technologies.

It was a big announcement at cfb cold lake yesterday...Laurie Hawn the Parliamentary Secretary to the minister of national defence made a visit to 4wing and made the official announcement of the new F35 fighter jets coming by 2016.

Hawn says the F18 jets we have now are a 4th generation plane, these new F35's are 5th generation and have some very significant improvements.

4 wing cold lake expects 24 jets.

A 25-year old man is Edmonton's latest murder victim. 

Police say the body of Andrew McPherson was found in his apartment on 149th avenue and 26th street Tuesday afternoon. 

No suspects as of yet...and no word on how he died.
