CFCW Country Radio
Dean Thorpe
I got my start in radio in Melfort Saskatchewan, in December of 1986. It certainly wasn't a glamorous start ... sticking labels on the back of Christmas albums to help keep track of which ones were played that month. One of my first big bloopers, was playing 3 hours of Handel's Messiah, backward on a reel to reel machine, on Christmas Day. Ironically, no one called to complain.
Since that time, I've worked in newsrooms across Western Canada and moved to Alberta in 1995. I had the wonderful fortune of becoming News Director and Agriculture Director with CFCW, and now host the daily Agri-Business report.
My wife Carolyn and I have been married for nearly 20 years, and we have two wonderful children...Jordy and Danielle.
In my spare time, I enjoy working with other forms of media including video editting. I also enjoy music, and as Danny Hooper has mentioned several times, I do play drums...and have for the past 30 years
