CFCW Country Radio
Jackie Rae

I was born and raised in St. Albert. And not that I want to age myself, I’m actually a liar when I say I was born there due to the fact there was no hospital in St. Albert at the time. (insert your cheap shot here!) The youngest of five kids, I’m definitely my Mom’s favourite child. (Good thing my sisters and brother don’t know how to read so they won’t see this).
I started in radio doing the all night show at CKGY in Red Deer back in 1982. Since then, I’ve sat behind the microphone at CFOK in Westlock, Q91 in Drumheller, and CHQT in Edmonton. I was hired as the Marketing Director at CFCW in 1989. Soon after I was promoted to Program Director and demoted to working with Wes Montgomery on the morning show...just kidding Wes! Wes and I worked together for ten years until he passed away in 2005. He definitely marched to the beat of his own drummer and that drummer sometimes had a wacky beat. I still miss the little guy. In the summer of 2006 it was time to move behind the scenes. I’m the Operations Manager and Program Director for CFCW. My days are spent calling Danny & Sharon into the principals office!
Besides my radio job, I volunteer my time to various charities and I still get to throw the granite around. I have been lucky enough to get to three Scott Tournament of Hearts curling, however as time goes by, you’ll find me more behind the scenes volunteering at events like the Ford World Men’s Curling Championship I chaired in the spring of 2007 or the Olympic Curling Trials in December of 2009. Thanks for listening to CFCW. It’s a station I’m extremely proud of….we always say it, there’s no listener like a CFCW listener!
