CFCW Country Radio
Dick Bell

I have always wanted to be in radio!
I got my first gig at CKYL in Peace River in 1973 in the newsroom.
After a year I became a DJ and it stayed that way.
I have had jobs in Red Deer, St. Paul, St. Albert, and then CFCW in 1987.
I have worked with the “greats”, Bev Munro, Curly Gurlock, The late Mike Goetze, Warren Holte, Al Anderson, Bruce Makokis, and more recently Pete Hicks (who hired me initially), Dale Smith, Tim Ellis, and all the rest of our experienced staff.
I currently live and work in Camrose with Pete, Dale, Tim, Ron Lehman (ex-jock) and the rest of our small Camrose staff, producing commercials and doing remote broadcasts as needed.
I have been married to Cindy since 1971 and have two children and 3 grand children.
Our listeners are what make CFCW the unique station that it is and their love of country music is what keeps us OLD guys going.
I guess I’ll have to keep going until it’s time to retire.
Not much else I know how to do.
