CFCW Morning Man Danny Hooper affectionately refers to me as “Stella the Greek.” My background is Greek although I’m not much of a Greek food cook. My parents tell me “you can’t just sprinkle Greek seasoning on chicken and call it souvlaki!” Oh well… guess that’s explains why I eat more pasta & pizza.
Danny also teases me about all the country music artist interviews I get to do. I’ve had a chance to interview everyone from Gord Bamford to Johnny Reid, and legendary artists like Mel Tillis and George Jones. To my surprise, George Jones called in a half hour early for his interview. I say “my surprise” because I was in the bathroom when he called!
Personally, I’m entering my 25th year in radio (having started at the age of 15). A 3-year old and a 6-year old keep me pretty busy at home. They do say that having kids makes you feel young, so I suppose that’s why I had them late in life. (Not that I feel that young on some days…ok, most days. Well, at least I'm still younger than Jackie Rae and Sharon Mallon). On weekends you can usually find us camping in our new travel trailer, going to a rodeo or attending a community event. When you see us, please come up to say hi!
Along with great country music weekday afternoons, TV personality Graham Neil joins me at 4:50pm with Entertainment News and then the Comedy Minute with Jimmy the Janitor at 5:35pm. Hope you’ll tune in the afternoons on 790 CFCW.
