The man accused of running down an Edmonton police officer and a number of civilians last September–will be going to trial—next year.
Abdulahi Sharif is facing 12 charges in the case–including five counts of attempted murder.
The officer had been on traffic duty outside Commonwealth Stadium–when he was hit by a car.
Right afterwards–the man behind the wheel got out–and began stabbing him.
Fortunately–the officer’s injuries werent life threatening—-and he was able to keep the suspect from getting hold of his firearm…
Later that same night–a man used a U-haul truck to run down four pedestrians along Jasper Avenue.
Some were very badly hurt—but they all survived.
Sharif’s jury trial is going to run from October to December of next year.
