In case you were looking for a project this long weekend—the provincial government says if you find any ticks—-dont toss them..
Submit them for testing—to help monitor for Lyme disease.
If those ticks are actually on you—-remove them safely with tweezers…
Put them in some kind of container—and then take them to an Environmental Public Health Office—or a First Nations Health Centre.
If you find them on your pets or farm animals—-take them to a vet.
Or if you just want to avoid the nasty things—-cover up when you head into the woods or grassy regions.
And use bug spray that has DEET.
