A new study says a lot of companies might complain they cant find “qualified” workers—but they should be taking a look in the mirror for that.
The study says more than half the companies in the country dont have programs that would help employees acquire new skills.
And only 18-percent say they would support employees who want to take the training somewhere themselves.
Experts say it costs about six times MORE to hire a new worker—-than it does to retrain someone they already have on staff.
New hires—are also more likely to leave—after getting their training.
