The phone lines lit up yesterday at CFCW—-after dozens of people saw what appears to have been a meteorite zooming through the sky in northern Alberta late yesterday afternoon. Happened around 5:20:
“I saw it too. I am north of Myrnam–so I’m guessing it was north of Cold Lake. “
“I’m north of Vermillion–bright, red ball of fire coming to the ground.”
“I was just coming out of Edmonton on 50th Street, north of the city–and it looked like it came down not too far north of there.”
Frank Florian with the Telus World of Science—has since confirmed it was a meteor—-and says you might be able to find fragments—somewhere in northeastern Alberta.
