Frankie the dog is coming home for Christmas.
He belongs to Ashley Power of Spruce Grove—but had disappeared in July–while he was being looked after by a friend.
Power was in the hospital at the time.
The friend had taken Frankie to Jasper and said he escaped….
But just this weekend—Power got a call from an animal shelter in Langley, BC—to say they had him.
They had identified him–through his ear tattoo. Frankie is actually a therapy dog—who helps Power with a number of medical issues.
He’s in good shape–and will be home TONIGHT—thanks to a company called “Furry Hobos and Highway Heroes”—a volunteer group of truck drivers that transports animals.
Frankie even got a new red sweater for the occasion. (photo credit–CBC)
