Nebraska may have given the greenlight to the Keystone XL pipeline yesterday—–but it still doesnt mean its going to happen.
State officials approved an ALTERNATE route—so we still have to see if TransCanada Corporation is going to say thats okay.
But–Premier Rachel Notley still says yesterday’s ruling means we’re closer to more “energy security”:
“Getting better prices for more customers, which is what we’re trying to do by building new pipelines, will also make our energy exports safer. There are those who argue that these pipelines projects are going to make us all less safe–and more prone to spills and accidents. That is false.”
TransCanada still has to look at cost and the timeframe involved for the alternate route.
