A Cochrane man has come up with an invention that he hopes will prevent thieves from taking off with poppy donation boxes this month.
We always hear about boxes being stolen every year—-but Dan Kroffat has made a prototype box….
Its made from metal—and comes with a feature that attaches it to whatever it happens to be sitting on.
Kent Hehr—the Minister of Veterans’ Affairs—knows about it—-so Kroffat is hoping the feds will adopt his design.
And here’s the best thing….
Because people have more confidence that their donations wont wind up in the hands of criminals—–he says good-natured people—are more likely to donate.
And thats great news for veterans. (photo credit–Terry Trembath–CBC)
