The Edmonton police officer who fought off an attacker despite being hit by a car and stabbed several times—is back on the job.
Constable Mike Chernyk had actually wanted to get right back to work after it happened—but was given some time to recover.
Chief Rod Knecht says Chernyk is a “solid farm boy” who brought his morals, ethics and values to the force—and is just a guy who wants to do the job.
In the meantime–one of the pedestrians who’d been run down by the U-Haul truck that evening—is still in the hospital—but police say she’s making progress–which is great news.
The suspect in the case—is due in court–November 14th.
