Given how winding it is—-you have to wonder why people keep speeding on Groat Road.
Edmonton police say they’ve handed out more than 450 speeding tickets on that road–since the middle of June.
Police say they’ve been focused on the region—after getting a lot of complaints speeding and careless drivers….
You’re only supposed to go between 50 and 60km an hour on that stretch—but in many cases–drivers are doing 50km or more OVER that.
Some notables—-a motorcycle doing 112km an hour—AND it was weaving in and out of traffic—almost hitting a bus…
Another motorcycle was clocked doing 166km an hour on the James McDonald Bridge–after passing two vehicles on River Valley road….
And yet another motorcycle was speeding down Groat. When police stopped it—they discovered the rider’s passenger–was a 10-year old kid.
