A truly inspiring message from the mother of the young woman killed during that white supremacist rally last weekend in Virginia.
More than 1-thousand people turned out for the memorial for 32-year old Heather Heyer–who was killed when a car was rammed into a group of people who were protesting the rally.
Her mom–Susan said they could have made the memorial a small and private affair—–but thats not who Heather was”:
“Because here’s the message–although Heather was a caring and compassionate person-so are a lot of you. And I think the reason that Heather has struck a chord–because we know what she did—is achievable. We dont all have to die. We dont all have to sacrifice our lives. They tried to kill my child to shut her up. Well guess what—you just magnified her.”
Her comments were followed by a standing ovation.
