The U-S Secretary of State is trying to calm everyone down—-over the current North Korea-US “war of words” .
Rex Tillerson says there’s no imminent threat—-despite the threats between President Donald Trump and North Korea.
He says Trump is just trying to send a strong message to the country’s leader—because he doesnt seem to understand diplomatic language.
Gordon Holden is the director of the China Institute at the U of A–and he told CTV-National its unlikely we’ll see a war:
“The danger is of course–when someone is pointing a gun at you—-as North Korea is to some extent—the tendency may be to shoot first.”
People who live on the island of Guam—getting a little worried about the current “war of words” .
North Korea has already said its looking at plans for attacking the U-S territory….
Right now—its a launching pad for the U-S military……
About 163-thousand people live on that island–and while they’re used to threats from North Korea—-they’re more concerned now than ever—because of President Donald Trump’s comments yesterday….
He said if North Korea keeps threatening—they’re going to be met with “fire and fury—like the world has never seen.”
