Good news concerning the Calgary police dog who was stabbed in the line of duty this weekend.
Acting Staff-Sgt James Lines says Jester was stabbed several times in the head during a chase:
“I know Jester went to the hospital in life-threatening condition. He has been upgraded to stable–he’s up walking around and back with his owner. The canines are our partners. The canine handler I know quite well—and he’s taking it pretty hard. But Jester’s going to be fine.”
He had been attacked by one of two criminals who had apparently broken into a school in northeast Calgary.
Both suspects are in custody—with charges pending. (photo credit–CBC)
