The Prime Minister paid a visit to BC on Saturday, visiting some of the areas hardest hit this month, by wildfires. He’ll spend a few more days there, and urged all Canadians to help out their neighbors in BC by donating what they can to the relief effort. Residents of 100 Mile House were allowed to go home, but officials say the danger from wildfires continues with blistering hot temperatures and very little rain in the forecast. A small blaze near the South Okanagan community of Naramata on Saturday morning, was quickly contained, but folks in the area, on edge. Kevin Boon with the BC Cattlemens Association says “we’re sitting on a tinder box” and added the wildfire season in BC is only just beginning.
